Human Resources
The Department of Human Resources is committed to providing prompt, courteous, and quality customer service. Our goal is to continually look for new and innovative ways to improve our processes and service delivery. We are available to assist in the areas of Employment, Employee Relations, Staff Development, Worker’s Compensation, Leaves, Benefits, Compensation, and other related Human Resources services. The HR department's efforts towards inclusion is an integral part of fair hiring practices that ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
In addition we work to promote a culture of respect that fosters open communication, where all employees can express their opinions and ideas. This can lead to better decision-making and problem-solving and bring unique perspectives to the table. Additionally, a positive work culture can help to reduce turnover rates and attract new talent to the city government.
When residents see a diverse and inclusive workforce, they are more likely to feel a sense of belonging and trust in the government. This, in turn, can lead to increased civic engagement and better service delivery to city residents. Overall, these improvements make a significant difference in the quality of life for employees and city residents.
We ultimately want to provide extraordinary service in a professional manner through the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and programs, enhancing individual and organizational effectiveness. We are dedicated to a culture of collaboration and commitment to servicing our customers (residents of the city).
