The City of Warrensville Heights is divided in to two governing bodies: Executive (Mayor) and Legislative (City Council). Together, these two bodies function to provide the citizens of Warrensville Heights with a transparent and efficient government.
Mayor
The Mayor serves as the Executive Director and Safety Director of Warrensville Heights and is responsible for the everyday management of the City and for seeing that all laws and ordinances enacted by council are enforced. The Mayor’s duties include the appointments of department directors and persons serving on advisory boards, such as the Civil Service and Planning Commission, with Council approval.
City Council
City Council serves as the city’s legislative body. There are seven elected council members representing the seven wards in the Warrensville Heights. The seven members of Council, along with the Mayor, act only by ordinance, resolution, or motion. Council is responsible for the appropriation and issuance of bonds, the awarding of contracts, and the approval of City expenditures over $15,000.

- 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month
- Caucus begins at 6 p.m.
During the summer season, caucus and council meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month only, for the months of June, July, and August. Both meetings are open to the public.
